On a track from her new album, Ariana Grande appears to apologize to ex Pete Davidson for not being completely over Mac Miller throughout their relationship.

The pop star, 25, has dropped her highly anticipated fifth record, Thank U, Next, and on one of the songs she appeared to address how her lingering feelings for Miller, who died of an accidental drug overdose last September, affected her relationship with the Saturday Night Live star, before they called off their engagement last October.

In “Ghostin,” Grande talks about how she’s struggling to get over another man, who’s no longer “here.”

“Though I wish he were here instead / Don’t want that living in your head,” Grande sings in the song, adding, “I know it breaks your heart when I cry again ‘Stead of ghostin’ him.”

However, Grande goes on to tell her lover, “we’ll get through this, we’ll get past this / I’m a girl with a whole lot of baggage / But I love you, we’ll get past this.”

Adding fuel to the fire, in response to a fan who asked what the song was about, Grande wrote, “Feeling bad for the person you’re with bc you love somebody else. Feeling bad bc he can tell he can’t compare…and how i should be ghosting him.”

The song, named after a term for suddenly abandoning someone without an explanation, comes after the singer wrote a note to Davidson in the scrapbook from her iconic “Thank U, Next” music video. Above a photo of the pair, which featured his face drawn over with a purple marker, Grande wrote: “sry I dipped.”

Several of Grande’s fans also picked up on a few musical clues that also seemed to imply the song was about the singer’s lingering feelings for Miller.

Many social media users pointed out that “Ghostin” used a similar instrumental to one from Miller’s “2009,” while others highlighted the lyrical similarities between Grande’s song and “Cinderella,” a track from Miller that Grande previously confirmed was written about her.

Grande has shared numerous heartfelt tributes to Miller since his death last year — including one posted just a week after her split from Davidson, and another last month, on what would have been Miller’s 27th birthday.

Last December, Grande also revealed that she’d covered up one of the nine tattoos she got with Davidson during their whirlwind romance with a sweet tribute to the late rapper.

In a behind-the-scenes video from her hit music video “Thank U, Next,” Grande called attention to her new “Myron” tattoo — named after Miller’s dog — which was situated in the same spot as an inkling she’d previously gotten in honor of Davidson’s father, who died during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York City.

Following her split from Davidson, a source close to the “No Tears Left to Cry” singer told PEOPLE Miller’s death “was devastating and shocking to her” and “made her rethink many things in her life.”
In addition to the new album, Grande also dropped the music video for her new song “Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored,” starring Riverdale’s Charles Melton, on Friday.

Grande went on to thank her supporters in an emotional tweet, which she said came later than she originally anticipated.

“i’m sorry my posts were late. scooter Allison my mom and Wendy made speeches and i can’t stop crying. I love Y’all,” the singer wrote. “i hope u enjoy this album. this music, you guys and my friends saved my life. love u. sry. right bye.”
