To this end, the Oppo K1 is the most affordable phone to offer an in-display fingerprint sensor. Beyond that, the K1 also touts an immersive waterdrop display and a powerful Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset, among other things.
The Oppo K1 will look to take on the likes of the Realme 2 Pro and Xiaomi Mi A2 in the sub-segments. The phone comes a few weeks after Oppo announced the R15 Pro. Based on the specs and features, the Oppo K1 looks like a more competitive smartphone compared to the Oppo A7 that was launched with a Snapdragon 450 chipset. Oppo K1 features
— The biggest USP of the Oppo K1 is its in-display fingerprint sensor. Oppo says the K1 comes with a light-sensitive fingerprint technology, which uses a screenshot solution to make unlocking the device faster and more accurate. This also makes the K1 the most affordable phone with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone also offers fast face unlock as well.
— The Oppo K1 looks similar to the Oppo F9 Pro in that it gets an edge-to-edge display with a droplet notch. This notch offers the least intrusion to your viewing experience. The phone touts a tall 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, promising vibrant colours and an immersive display. The K1 also gets a strong Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the top.
— The K1 comes with an attractive 3D curved glass back panel to offer a comfortable in-hand feel. It comes in some striking colour options that includes Astral Blue, which is a gradient colour scheme that moves from blue to purple hues, and Piano Black in solid colour.
— Oppo’s newest smartphone also comes with a powerful Snapdragon 660 chipset with Adreno 512 GPU, which promises to deliver a consistent and smooth performance, even while playing graphic intensive games like PUBG. The phone also comes with Oppo’s Hyper Boost technology that optimises gaming performance.
— The Oppo K1 is big on selfie, much like most Oppo phones. The 25MP front camera promises to deliver crisp and detailed selfies and it also comes with a new AI beauty algorithm that analyses the face to offer the best shot. The 16MP rear camera also gets AI support with the ability to recongnise over 120 scenes.
Oppo K1 price and availability
The Oppo K1 will be available for Rs 16,990(INR) on Flipkart starting Tuesday, February 12 in two colour variants – Piano Black and Astral Blue. Oppo announced a new partnership with Flipkart as the company aims to expand its online reach after establishing a strong offline presence. As a first, Oppo is offering a 90 per cent buyback value of up to Rs 15,300(INR) for a period of 8 months. Customers can also avail an additional bank discount of Rs 1,690(INR) for up to 8 months.
